Ambulance Billing

Ambulance Billing is responsible for billing patients or their insurance company for ambulance service received in El Dorado County. Since July 1, 2006 the County has contracted with Wittman Enterprises, LLC, to provide these services. Rates are established by the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors and periodically adjusted to keep pace with current service delivery costs. Click here for the current Ambulance Rate Schedule. Medicare reimburses only for ambulance service that is deemed “medically necessary”. Occasionally seniors are dismayed to find that payment has been denied by Medicare, making the patient responsible for the ambulance bill.
