Solid Waste & Hazardous Materials

The purpose of the Solid Waste & Hazardous Materials Division is to protect the public health and the environment from the effects of improper handling of solid waste and hazardous materials, and to promote recycling. These goals are accomplished through enforcement activities, incident response, public education, litter collection and oversight of the contract solid waste franchises. The two primary programs are: Hazardous Materials and Solid Waste.
