DTSC Public Meeting to Discuss Draft RAW for the Proposed
ORHS Expansion
The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) will hold
a public
meeting to discuss the draft Removal Action Plan (RAW)
prepared for upcoming construction activities associated with
a proposed expansion on the Oak Ridge High School (ORHS) site.
The ORHS is situated in an area known to contain naturally-occurring
asbestos (NOA). The draft RAW, currently undergoing a 30-day
public comment period which ends on February 15, 2008,
describes how the expansion project will be conducted to prevent
or reduce potential risks to public health and the environment.
During the meeting the DTSC will answer community questions
regarding the proposed expansion and details of the draft
RAW.
