November 29, 2011 at 1:20 pm, The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office was contacted regarding a reported death at a residential structure fire located at 1925 Mameluke Hill Road in Georgetown. According to the neighbor they had noticed a plume of smoke and went to the residence and noted that it had almost burnt to the ground. The neighbors began to stop the fire from spreading and while putting spot fires out they located a deceased male subject lying on the ground outside of the burnt residence. The identity of the deceased male is being withheld until next of kin is notified.
A Sheriff’s coroner detective is investigating the case and at this time there does not appear to be any signs of foul play. The cause of death is pending further investigation. The Fire Departments arson investigator will attempt to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
