Saturday evening (June 7, 2014) the Sheriff’s dispatch center received a call from Vernon “Cody” Mathews’ parents advising they were concerned for his safety.
Summer is on it’s way and with it comes the risk of wildland fires. Already throughout the State many lives and homes have been in danger due to wildland fires.
Sheriff John D’Agostini is pleased to announce the opening of the Sheriff’s Georgetown Substation. The decision to open a Georgetown substation stems from community input desiring an increase in deputy presence and to provide a centralized location for the citizens who live in the surrounding area.

Body Found in Folsom Lake

On Friday morning (May 16,2014) the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office was advised that a body of a male adult was found in Folsom Lake, by State Park Personnel.
Personnel from the Sheriff’s Office will be partnering with Special Olympians to seat you and serve you at Applebee’s in Cameron Park this Thursday May 15, 2014. Together they will be serving lunch from 11:00am to 2:00pm and dinner from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.

Since the first of October there have been numerous homes burglarized in the Pollock Pines and Sly Park area stretching from Pollock Pines to Pleasant Valley.
The National Weather Service predicts a cold weather system with freezing overnight temperatures moving into the area this week (Tuesday – Saturday). Sheriff John D’Agostini along with the El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency, Public Health Division is asking residents to take steps now to prepare. Those especially at risk during extreme cold weather include seniors, infants, and animals.
Sheriff John D’Agostini is a strong supporter of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. Toys for Tots provides toys, clothing, stocking stuffer's, etc for children ages infant up to age 13 (boys and girls) and has done so since 1947. The motto is "A toy for every child/ Every child deserves a little Christmas"

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the physical assault on a female victim that was originally reported in Alpine County on 10/6/13. The victim has now determined that the assault occurred in the vicinity of Meyers, South Lake Tahoe.
In a letter dated September 18, 2013, El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Captain Randy Peshon received notice of his appointment to the Judicial Council Collaborative Justice Courts Advisory Committee by Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye, Chief Justice of California and Chair of the Judicial Council.
The El Dorado Sheriff’s Explorers will be having a spaghetti feed fundraiser. All proceeds will be going to Explorer Post #457 to fund competitions and the 2014 Explorer Nationals.
On October 4, 2013 at 6:11pm a citizen reported to the Sheriff’s
Office that multiple kayakers were in the water and were possibly in distress
near Camp Richardson. On this date a lake wind advisory had been
issued on Lake Tahoe. The weather was clear and very windy.
Sheriff John D’Agostini will be participating in the National Drug Take Back Day, promoted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, by setting up collection stations on Saturday, October 26, 2013.

A two (2) week long investigation has resulted in the arrest of a 21 year old man. Born in Michoacan, Mexico the man currently claims to be a transient.
