Employers who comply with child support laws help their communities:
- By deducting for child and medical support obligations
- By saving taxpayers’ dollars By preventing and reducing fraud
- By promoting a stable and reliable workforce
- By supporting family self sufficiency
Employers play a vital role in the collection of child support. In the fiscal year 2007/2008 employers collected over $6,900,000 in child support for El Dorado County. We recognize that wage withholding can sometimes be a burdensome process, but without your help we would be losing a great deal of financial support.

Electronics Funds Transfer/Electronic Data Interchange (EFT/EDI) offers employers multiple methods to remit payments electronically which are fast, simple, and secure. We strongly encourage you to send income withholdings for your employees to the SDU by EFT/EDI. Click here to learn more.
The following is a list of commonly asked questions and links to information for employers. If you have further questions, please contact our department. On behalf of El Dorado County Department of Child Support Services, thank you for your help in supporting America’s Children.
