El Dorado County to Hold Public Scoping Meeting
Input Sought on Content of Environmental Impact Report for Proposed Sign Ordinance Amendment

(Placerville, CA) – El Dorado County’s Community Development Agency, Long Range Planning Division will be holding a public scoping meeting Thursday, October 23 at 6:00pm. The meeting regards the scope and content of the environmental information and analyses to be included in the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the proposed changes to the County’s sign ordinance. County staff will provide a brief overview of the project, followed by a question and answer session. The meeting will be held in the Planning Commission Hearing Room located at 2850 Fairlane Court, Building C, in Placerville. All interested parties are invited to attend and submit written comments. Comments will be accepted until 5:00pm on Friday, October 31, 2014. There will be another opportunity to submit detailed comments when the draft EIR is released for public review.
In August of 2012, the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors approved moving forward on the preparation of a comprehensive sign ordinance amendment. Under the California Environmental Quality Act, El Dorado County is the lead agency and is required to hold at least one public scoping meeting following a Notice of Preparation (NOP) of an EIR. El Dorado County released the NOP on October 1, 2014.
