Confidential Marriage License
Confidential Marriage license's are issued in accordance with California State Family Code Part 4, Section 500. When two persons, have been living together, they may be married pursuant to this chapter by a person authorized to solemnize a marriage. The license, is good for 90 days after its issuance by the county clerk, and may be used in any California County. The fee for the license is $58.00. Must be paid by Cash, Cashiers check, money order or ATM.
As the license name indicates, it is a "Confidential" license. In order to obtain a copy of the license once it has been registered with the County Recorder-Clerk, either of the spouses must personally appear with proper identification at the Recorder-Clerk office, or, if requesting a certified copy by mail, must include your notarized application. The request should include the names of both spouses, date of marriage, place of marriage, and a Postal or Bank money order or check made out to the Recorder-Clerk for $15.00 for each copy requested. The Recorder-Clerk does not accept out of state checks.
